Howard Day

Howard Layton Day, 83, of Louisville, formerly of Short Creek, passed away Tuesday, September 29th, 2015 at Jefferson Manor in Louisville. He was born on Thursday, December 17th, 1931 in Grayson County, the son of the late William Jesse and Ora Mae (Duncan) Day. Howard is a veteran of the US Army and served in the Korean Conflict from 1952-1954. He retired from General Electric in Louisville. Howard is survived by his daughter, Beverly Sue Hurt and her husband, Terry of Evansville, IN; his son, Eddie Howard Day and his wife, Laura of Guston, KY and several nieces and nephews. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his four sisters and five brothers.The family will receive friends at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville Friday, October 2 from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm with cremation to follow.
