Hubert Davis Gregory 88 of Glasgow died Thursday December 25, 2008 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. He was born in Jackson, Miss. the son of the late Calvin and Georgie Esther Bell Gregory. Hubert was a retired C.P.A. and was the founder of the former Gregory, Taylor and Polson Co.. He was a Pearl Harbor survivor serving in the U.S. Marine Corp during WWII. Mr. Gregory was the founder and charter member of M.J.M. Inc. (Motorcycles for Jesus Ministries), a member of the Gideon's, the Glasgow Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Allen Lodge #24 F&AM and was a Kentucky Colonel. Survivors include his wife, Jean Spencer Gregory; 2 sons David A. Gregory (Tammy) of Glasgow and Victor L. Gregory (Cheryl) of Glasgow; 3 daughters Mary Sue Gregory of Glasgow, Marcella Maki (John) of Maryville, TN and Esther Medina of Glasgow; 9 grandchildren Wayne A. (Tonya) England, Mariah Collins, Chris (Martha) Collins, Nicholas P. (Loryn) Collins, Mitchell Lee Gregory, Lisa Ann Gregory, Gina M. Gregory, Jennifer Maki (Paul) Krozic and Paul David Maki and 4 great-grandchildren Joseph Wayne England, Michael Allen England, Phyllana Collins and Adalynn Collins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons Hubert D. Gregory Jr. and Dexter Dale Gregory and a grandson Phillip Collins. Funeral services will be 3:30 PM Sunday December 28, 2008 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday from 4:00pm until 8:00pm and on Sunday until time for services. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Gideon's or your favorite charity.
