Idelle Thomas Poynter 84 of Glasgow died Saturday, May 18, 2013 at her home. She was born in Barren County, the daughter of the late Jim and Nettie Matthews Thomas. Mrs. Poynter was a homemaker and farm wife and a former employee of L.C. Ellis Drug Store and Handmacher in Glasgow. She was a member of the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. She is survived by 1 son Ricky Poynter and wife Jeannie of Glasgow; a daughter-in-law Bernice Poynter of Glasgow; a sister-in-law Dorene Thomas Hard of Scottsville; 8 grandchildren Tasha Caffee, Todd and Jeannie Poynter, Brenda and Terry Wilson, Tammy and Greg Groce and Patty Link; 11 great grandchildren Nola Caffee, Dylan Poynter, Justin and Timothy Caffee, Richard Groce, Cassie and Nathan Meadows, Brittany, Alex and Gabbie Link, Amber Prewitt; 5 great-great grandchildren Mason Meadows, Ryan and Landon Link and Trey and Jerri Prewitt; 1 nephew and several nieces. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Tommy Poynter, a son Eddie Poynter, a great granddaughter Asia Caffee, 2 brothers William and James Thomas and her sister Mildred Smith. Funeral services will be 11am Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin at 5pm Monday. The family has requested there be no roses in flower arrangements sent to the funeral home.
