Irene Simmons

Irene Simmons 93 of Glasgow, KY died Tuesday December 2, 2003 at the N.H.C. Health Care Facility in Glasgow. She was born in Barren County the daughter of the late Joe Chris McGuire and Wallace Moore McGuire and wife of the late Rad Simmons. Mrs. Simmons was an employee of Greenleaf Nursery for over 30 years and was a member of the Poplar Log Church Of Christ. She is survived by a son Reid Simmons of Temple Hill; 2 brothers Glen McGuire and Veachel McGuire both of Temple Hill; 2 sisters Christine Miller of Glasgow and Earlene Jones of Freedom; 7 grandchildren Cindy Gentry, Penny Barker, Diane Pierce, Timmy Simmons, Gary Simmons and Phillip Simmons all of Glasgow and Kurt Simmons of Nashville, TN, 5 great granchildren Schuyler Read, Brandon Glass, Jessica Glass, Joshua Simmons and Abby Simmons and several nieces and nephews. In addtion to her parents and husband, two sons Rex and Ronnie Simmons, a granddaughter Tammy Simmons and two brothers Mitchell and Ernie Lee McGuire preceded her in death. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday December 5, 2003 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Poplar Log Cemetery. Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
