J. T. Houchens 85 of Glasogw died Wednesday May 10, 2006 at his home. He was born in Barren County the son of the late Lee and Annie Smith Houchens. Mr. Houchens was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Barren County. He was a World War II Veteran and served as a hospital medic in Calcutta, India and was employed with Ragland-Potter (wholesale grocery company) for 27 years and retired to farming. He is survived by his wife Wanda Jones Houchens; one daughter Sue Houchens Burgess and husband Royce of Glasgow; two sons Ricky S. Houchens and wife Lori Berry Houchens of Glasgow and Roger A. Houchens and wife Tammy Smith Houchens of Glasgow; seven grandchildren Julie Burgess Robinson and husband Craig, Bridget Houchens Williams and husband Danny, Steven Lee Houchens, Presley Houchens, Paige Houchens, Derek Mizell and Lance Mizell; three great grandchildren Ashley N. Robinson, Brock D. Robinson and Sydney G. Robinson; one sister Louise Devasher of Glasgow and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers Ernest L. and Euell Houchens and two sisters Annie Lee Shelton and Margaret Houchens. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Saturday May 13, 2006 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2:00pm Friday at the funeral home.
