Jackie Turner

Jackie Lee Turner 56 of Temple Hill died Saturday February 7, 2009 at his home after a long battle with Lou Gehrig's disease. He was born in Monroe County August 25, 1952. Jackie was a member of the Temple Hill Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Carolyn Sowers Turner; one son Daniel Lee Turner (Molly) of Temple Hill, one daughter Casey Lauren Turner (Tyler Smith) of Bowling Green; his mother Emogene Turner of Mt. Hermon and one brother Rickie Wayne Turner (Brenda) of Freedom. Other surviving relatives are one uncle, James Perdue (Ruth Ann) of Indianapolis, IN and Cecil and Velma Sowers and their family: Jim and Carrie Sowers, Jimmie and Brenda Gossett, David and Tracy Sowers, Kevin and Ann Kelly and his cousins in Louisville and Indianapolis. He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne C. Turner; and his grandparents Otis and Anna Belle Turner, Bart Perdue and Letha Carter. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday February 9, 2009 at the Temple Hill Baptist Church with burial in the Bethlehem Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12:00 Noon on Sunday at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home and will continue on Monday from 11:00am until time for the service at the Temple Hill Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Assn. or to the Temple Hill Baptist Church Building Fund in his memory.
