Jake Lyon, Sr.

Jake Burton Lyon Sr. 78 of Cave City, died Sunday February 24th at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. He was born in Horse Cave, KY the son of the late Jake and Bessie Thompson Lyon. Mr. Lyon was a truck driver for Midway Wholesale and was a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church at Uno, KY. He was a hard worker and had a green thumb for gardening and loved the outdoors. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He is survived by his wife Patricia Alexander Lyon; 3 sons David Lyon (Pam) of Virginia, Steven Craig Lyon of Florida and Paul Jeffrey Lyon (Donna) of Kentucky; 1 daughter Julie Anne Greene (Doug) of Tennessee; 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceeded in death by a son, Jake Burton Lyon, Jr. The family has chosen cremation for Mr. Lyon. There will be a memorial service at 11:00am Tuesday February 26th at the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church at Uno, KY. There will be no visitation prior to the service.
