James Appleby

James Freeman Appleby 78 of Glasgow died Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at the Bowling Green Medical Center. Born September 14, 1932 in Cumberland County, KY he was the son of the late Orville & Ruby Hicks Appleby. Mr. Appleby was veteran of the U. S. Air Force and a retired truck driver for over 40 years. Survivors include his wife of 51 years Frances Capps Appleby; a son Robert Appleby of Russellville, AL; 3 brothers Edward Appleby (Verna) of Trout, LA, Bob Appleby (Sallie) of Monticello, KY and T. K. Appleby (Minnie) of Beaumont, KY; 4 sisters Margaret Smith of Louisville, Frances Carter (Homer) of Glasgow, Jo Franklin (David) of Summer Shade, KY and Linda Reid of Mayfield, KY; several cousins, nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Dennis Appleby. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Saturday, November 13, 2010 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be after 3:00pm Friday at the funeral home.
