James Atwell

James G. Atwell 87 of Glasgow died Friday March 26, 2004. Born in Green County to the late William Coy & Mary (Thompson) Atwell, He was a resident of Barren County most of his life. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Edna (McGuire) Atwell, 1 son Douglas Graham Atwell and a daughter in law Doris Atwell. He is survived 1 son James W. Atwell and his wife Martha of Glasgow, a sister Bernice Coomer of Cave City, 5 grandchildren, Steve and wife Melony Atwell of Bowling Green, Russell and wife Rachel Atwell of Louisville, Paul and wife Dana Atwell of Louisville and Paige Atwell of Glasgow. Also surviving are 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A dedicated servant to his community and fellow man, he was a faithful member of Glasgow First United Methodist Church, Fellowship Sunday School Class, a Mason and past Master of Allen lodge #24, a past Glasgow City Councilman, owner and operator of Atwell
