James Wilburn Childress 73 of Glasgow died Friday, February 28, 2014 at the University of Louisville Hospital. Born in Barren County he was the son of the late Will Amos & Viola Grace Pipkin Childress. Mr. Childress was of the Baptist faith and attended the First Baptist Church in Glasgow and was a self-employed Brick Mason. Survivors include 8 children Lisa Bailey of Glasgow, Carol Boles of Glasgow, Tracy Seay of Huntsville, AL, Todd Childress of Glasgow, Eric Childress of Louisville, Jonathan Childress of Glasgow, Barthel Childress of Louisville and Tony Buford of Bowling Green and their mother Carolyn Childress of Glasgow; 4 sisters Priscilla Hayden of Atlanta, GA, Constance Packer, Wanda Wardlow and Francis Martin all of Louisville; a brother Jerry Childress of Detroit, MI; 10 grandchildren and several nieces & nephews also survive. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 2 sisters Betty Childress and Deloris Burris and a brother Donald Childress. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Saturday, March 8, 2014 at the First Baptist Church with burial in the Childress Family Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, March 7, 2014 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home and on Saturday from 11:00am until time for the service at the First Baptist Church.
