James Emerson

James Rodney Emerson 84 of Smiths Grove, KY died Sunday, March 22, 2015 at his home with his family by his side. Born in Barren County July 29, 1930 he was the son of the late Joe T. and Martha Jane Gentry Emerson. Rodney was a farmer and retried from Dairymen Inc. after 35 years. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Lavon Houchens Emerson; 3 daughters Faye Kinslow (Steve), Maxine Smith and Kaye Wagoner all of Glasgow; 1 son James Ray Emerson (Vicki) of Glasgow; 7 grandchildren Robert Hogue III (Jennifer), Amanda Hogue, Traci Beauchamp, Kelly Kinslow (Kyron), Tiffany Combs (Tim), Joe Emerson (Erin) all of Glasgow and Martha Mack (Joey) of Livingston, LA. Fifteen great grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by a brother H. K. Emerson. Funeral services will be 2pm Wednesday, March 25th at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Shiloh Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2pm Tuesday.
