James Furlong

James 'Poke' Furlong 76 of Glasgow died Thursday, November 20, 2014 at his home. Born at Beckton, he was the son of the late Leslie and Millie Bell Hawkins Furlong. Mr. Furlong was a farmer and his hobbies were hunting and fishing He is survived by a daughter Milie Grider (Stephen) of Glasgow; a son Melvin Furlong (Teresa) of Glasgow; 4 grandchildren Ashley, Allen and Mariah Furlong and Cody Grider; 2 brothers Donald Furlong (Sue) of Glasgow and Bill Furlong (Pernie) of Center; 4 sisters Annie Settles (Bill) of Glasgow, Barbara Wooten (Thurman) of Park City, Bessie Gibbons (Arthur) of Red Cross and Grace Smith (Marvin) of Glasgow. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth Ann Renfro Furlong, 3 brothers Leroy (Peggy) Furlong, Amos Furlong and Jewell Furlong and a sister Ilene Furlong. Funeral services will be 11am Saturday, November 22nd at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Old Zion Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2pm Friday.
