James Waldren Galloway 89 of Smiths Grove, died Sunday July 4, 2004 at the Barren County Health Care Facility in Glasgow. He was born in Horse Cave, KY the son of the late Walter and Bessie Russell Galloway. Mr. Galloway was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII where he served in the Philippines. After leaving the military service he was an instructor at the Ft. Knox Armor School. After 28 years of Military and Civil Service, he retired to the farm in South Barren County. He was a member of the South Green St. Church of Christ and the Hays Masonic Lodge #517 F&AM. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Virginia Snoddy Galloway; 2 sons James M. Galloway and wife Phyllis of Shepherdsville, KY, Charles A. Galloway and wife Frances of Smiths Grove; 1 daughter Beverly Elliott and husband Rick of Glasgow; 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; 1 brother Allen Galloway of Ashland, KY and 1 sister Mary Morris of Tampa, FL. In addition to his parents an infant son Jerry W. Galloway, 2 brothers Paul and Scott Galloway and a sister Elaine Galloway Burd preceded him in death. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Wednesday July 7, 2004 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Hays Cemetery in Warren County. Visitation will be after 2:00pm Tuesday at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home.
