James Garfield Holloway 85 of Glasgow, Kentucky died Monday March 10, 2008 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. He was born in Monroe County, the son of the late William Herbert and Ada Page Holloway. The Barren County businessman was the founder and Chairman of the Board of Glasgow Building Supply with interests in Real Estate and was a life long farmer. He was a member of the Kentucky Saler Cattleman's Assn., the Barren County Cattleman's Assn., the Masonic Lodge, Glasgow-Barren County Chamber of Commerce and a member of the South Green St. Church of Christ. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII and served with valor and honor under General Montgomery in the European Theatre with the 8th Army, 809th Tank Destroyer Unit. Survivors include his wife, Olive Maxie Carter Holloway; one son Jimmy Holloway and wife Janet of Glasgow; 2 daughters Wanda Mabry and husband Marvin of Somerset, KY and Rhonda Cormney and husband Ben of Richmond, KY; 6 grandchildren Wesley and Cameron Holloway, Greg Bushong, Kyle, Gabe and Regan Cormney; 2 great-grandchildren Hannah and Conner Jordan Bushong and 1 brother William Eugene Holloway of Louisville. Funeral services will be 11:00am Thursday March 13, 2008 at the South Green St. Church of Christ. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Monroe County with military honors provided by DAV Chapter 20 of Glasgow. Visitation will be at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home beginning at 5:00pm on Tuesday and on Thursday from 9:00am until time for services at the church.
