James Peden

James Earl Peden, age 81, of Glasgow, died Thursday, October 13, 2022, at Vanderbilt University Hospital. He was born in Glasgow on November 19, 1940, to the late Ebley Peden and the late Pauline (Taylor) Peden. He was a farmer in his retirement. He was a member of South Green St. Church of Christ, a Deacon and Elder at Okolona Church of Christ in Louisville, and Columbia Avenue Church of Christ in Glasgow. Mr. Peden was a 1958 graduate of Temple Hill High School. Following high school, he joined the United States Marine Corp where he served from 1958 until 1961. He graduated from Western Kentucky University in 1965 and received his MBA from the University of Louisville in 1975. He was employed at Tyson (formerly SKF) from 1965 to 1968 and spent 30 years with General Electric as an Engineer. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sara Jo Hall Peden; children: James Peden (Debbie) of Louisville, Beth Tallent (Brian) of Franklin, TN, David Peden (Paige) of Saint Louis, MO, and Eric Peden (Janet) of Louisville; grandchildren, McKenna Peden, Cailin Peden, Katy Tallent, Ashton Conner, Brendan Kelting, and Evan Peden. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Peden. A Graveside service will be held at 3:30 PM, Sunday, October 16th at Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM, Sunday at the funeral home. Military honors will be provided at graveside by DAV Chapter #20. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the South Green Street Church of Christ or Barren County Historical Society. A.F.
