James Willard Polson, 70, of Glasgow died Wednesday night May 25, 2016 at TJ Samson Community Hospital after a sudden illness complicated by years of struggle with multiple sclerosis. Jimmy was a native of Glasgow, Kentucky and a graduate of Glasgow High School and the University of Kentucky School of Pharmacy. He practiced pharmacy for nearly four decades in Glasgow, Brownsville, and Scottsville. Jimmy was an avid UK sports fan, never giving up hope for his beloved Wildcats. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Elsie Polson, both of Glasgow, and his grandson, Max Polson, also of Glasgow. He is survived by his wife of almost 52 years, Emily Settle Polson of Glasgow; children Linda Rucker of Mount Washington and Johnny Polson of Glasgow; and five grandchildren, Andrew Polson, Will Rucker, Jay Rucker, Matthew Polson, and Kate Polson. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Sunday, May 29, 2016 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4:00pm Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to First United Methodist Church of Glasgow and/or the Kentucky-Indiana Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
