James William 'Will' Saltsman 71 of Glasgow died Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012 at his home following a battle with cancer. He was born in Glasgow a son of the late Coy Lee and Mary Coomer Saltsman. He was a 1958 graduate of Hiseville High School. He served four years in the U.S. Navy and after 30 years of service, retired from Ford Motor Co. in Louisville. Mr. Saltsman was a Baptist and recently had been attending Big Meadow Baptist Church. Will was a family man who loved his sisters and brother dearly. He was known for his witty sense of humor and hard-working attitude. He was an amazing father and grandfather and had an incredible heart filled with kindness and gratitude. He is survived by 4 daughters, Sheila Saltsman of Shepherdsville, KY, Cindy (Ed) Caffrey of Great Falls, Montana, Rhonda (Rick) Norris of Taylorsville, KY and Sherry Shepherd of Mt. Washington, KY; 6 grandchildren Jason and Mike Weathers, Mandi Caffrey, Katie and Nick Norris and Natalie Griffith; 2 great-grandchildren Hannah and Kaden Weathers; 1 brother C.L. (Judy) Saltsman of Columbus, IN; 3 sisters Carol (James) Pierce, Alice (Gilbert) Piper and Connie (Danny) Thomas all of Glasgow and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1pm Thursday, March 1, 2012 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home. Burial with military honors provided by DAV Chapter 20 of Glasgow will be at the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 11am until 8pm and Thursday until time for the service. The family would like to thank their friends for their support and a special thanks to the Brown Cancer Center, Hosparus of Louisville and Barren County, and A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home.
