James Hugh Wilkerson 88 of Glasgow died Monday, November 7, 2016 at NHC Healthcare in Glasgow. The Barren County native was the son of the late Finis and Lou Birdia Carver Wilkerson and husband of the late Betty Jean Pitcock Wilkerson. James was a farmer and an employee of the Kentucky Agricultural Dept. He was a veteran, serving in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War and was a member of the Mt. Olivet Missionary Baptist Church. James was an avid sports fan, enjoyed playing golf and loved his grandkids. He never met a stranger. Survivors include his two daughters, Lisa Wyatt (Carroll Jr.) of Austin and Lori Wilkerson-Poynter of Glasgow; 1 daughter-in-law Tonya Wilkerson of Glasgow; 4 grandchildren Kiley Curtis (John), Jessica Wyatt, Cole and Raina Rodriguez all of Glasgow; 1 great grandson Wyatt Curtis; 3 brothers Orville Wilkerson (Joyce) of Glasgow, Donald Wilkerson (Wanda) of Austin and Michael Wilkerson (Maggie of Lawrenceburg, KY; 3 sisters Lou Jean Jewell (Harry) of Lucas, Evelyn Billingsley (Ray) of Glasgow and Janet Groce (Bobby) of Glasgow; a sister-in-law Sandy Wilkerson of Glasgow and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a son Daryl Wilkerson; a brother Clifton Wilkerson and a sister Sandra Kay Lindsey. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday, November 11th at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 4pm Thursday.
