Janis Brown Marlow, age 82 of Lithis Springs, GA passed away Friday (February 19, 2016). She was born August 24, 1933 in McDaniels, KY, the daughter of Albert & Eulah Brown. Ms. Marlow was a 1950 graduate of St. Joseph Catholic High School. She was the first lady to drive a school bus for the Grayson County Scholl system in Kentucky, she served as a Communicant of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and was the organist. After moving to Douglas County, she was a volunteer at the HCA Parkway Medical Center and the Tanner Medical Center of Villa Rica. She also served as the Douglas County ASPCA Representative, the Executive Board of Cobb County Association of Business Women, and as Treasurer of the Homeowners Association of the Rosehill Community. She is survived by her son, Annual Scott Marlow, his wife Darlene, three daughters, Glenna Marie Marlow, Keitha Marlow Johnson, her husband Craig, & Marsh Webb Younce, her husband Michael, Four grandchildren, Denver Shane Wheeler, Tatum Wheeler Simmons, Jordan Lee Eley, & Emily Marie Eley, and two great grandchildren, Hope Savannah Simmons & Haven Skye Simmons. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Brown and her half-brother, Joseph Scott Brown. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday (February 25, 2016) at the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, at the Watson & Hunt Funeral Chapel in Leitchfield with a Rosary service at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
