Jerry Childress

Jerry Wayne Childress 65 of Glasgow, passed away Friday October 3, 2014 peacefully at his home, surrounded by friends and family. He was born in Cub Run, KY the son of the late Rex and Delma Thompson Childress. Jerry was the owner and operator of Jerry's Auto Sales in Glasgow from 1989-2014. Jerry was a respected and trustworthy Christian businessman in the community. His most important assets in life were church, family, friends and customers. His selfless characteristic is what made him loved and adored by his family, friends and community. Jerry was a member of the Hickory College Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife Patricia 'Faye' Davis Childress of Glasgow; 3 sons Chad Childress (Shelia) of Glasgow, Jeremy Childress of Bowling Green and Todd Childress (Brittany) of Bowling Green; 2 grandchildren Breanna 'Bre' Childress and William 'Will' Childress; family friend Heather Duncan of Owensboro; 3 sisters Lou Vella Kinser of Louisville, Sherry Childress of Bowling Green and Loretta Pickerel (Mike) of Glasgow; father-in-law William 'Bill' Davis of Glasgow; sisters-in-law Linda Childress of Priceville , Brenda Honeycutt (David) of Glasgow and Sheila Mattingly (Greg) of Glasgow; brother-in-law Ricky Davis (Terry) of Glasgow; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother Paul Childress and his mother-in-law Dorothy Davis. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Monday October 6th at the A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be a after 11:00am Sunday at the funeral home.
