Jesse L. Abney 92 of Glasgow died Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at the NHC Healthcare Facility in Glasgow. Born in Hiseville, KY he was the son of the late Steve and Annie Rebecca Taxton Abney and husband of the late Mary Elizabeth Abston Abney. Jesse was the owner and operator of the former Pan Am Service Station in Glasgow and was a member of the South Green St. Church of Christ. He veteran of World War II serving in the U. S. Army. Survivors include a foster son, Tim Runyon and wife Nicole of Roswell, GA; a foster grandson, Ryan Runyon of Roswell, GA; a sister Christine Harris and husband Ed of Edmonton; a sister-in-law McRee Houchens and husband Charles of Glasgow and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Friday, December 12, 2014 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by DAV Chapter #20 of Glasgow. Visitation will be from 2:00pm until 7:00pm Thursday and continue Friday morning until time for the service.
