Payne Boston 91 of Glasgow died Sunday, December 16, 2007 at Glasgow, KY, surrounded by his family. He was born February 2, 1916 in Metcalfe County, the son of Eugene and Eudora James Boston. He served in the CCC in Kentucky and Utah. He was a WWII Army veteran in the Pacific where he was awarded a Purple Heart. Mr. Boston was a mechanic, farmer, and retired school bus driver. He was a member of Siloam Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Rosie Nell Vance Boston, two daughters: Sylvia Sandefur (Sam), Kay Turner (Hughie) both of Glasgow, five sons: Shelvy (Becky) Boston, Eugene (Glenda) Boston both of Temple Hill; Kyle (Cheri) Boston of Cave City, Eddie (Christy) Boston and Timmy of Horse Cave, step-daughter, Brenda Goode (Bobby) of Glasgow, step-sons: Jimmy Vance (Annette) of Bowling Green, Donnie Vance (Beverly) of Glasgow, three sisters: Gladys Edmonson of Alvaton, Katherine Groves of Louisville, Muriel Carter of Alvaton; a brother Royce Boston of Stanton, KY.; 28 grandchildren, 27 great-grand children and 5 great great grand-children. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by first wife Ora Stephens Boston, sisters: Nell Simmons, Irene Webber, Joyce Tipton, Inez Boston; brothers: James Boston, Estill Boston, Willis (Buck) Boston and 3 great grandchildren, Joshua Scott, Bonnie Bow, and Monica Vance. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home. Burial with military honors provided by DAV Chapter 20 of Glasgow in Cedar Flat Cemetery in Metcalfe County. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at the A. F.
