Jessie Groce

Jessie Paul Groce 86 of Glasgow died Sunday, July 7, 2013 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. Born in Cumberland Co. he was the son of the late George C. 'Samson' & Lilly Edna Riddle Groce and husband of the late Cora Shipley Groce. Mr. Groce was a retired from Sewell Harlan Lumber Co. and farming. Survivors include 4 daughters Mary Edna Boatman (Steve) of Glasgow, Vickie Wheeler (J. B.) of Rockfield, KY, Faye Cannon (Bobby) of Brownsville, KY and Diane Waters (Steve) of Bowling Green; 2 sons Douglas Groce of Park City and Kenneth Groce (Virginia) of Fountain Run; 12 Grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, several step grandchildren, step great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a son Walter Keith Groce, a grandson Robert Christopher Cannon, a sister Lydia Spears and 4 brothers Ralph, Fred, Preston and Hayden Groce. Funeral services will be 11:00am Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be after 12:00pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
