Jessie Houchens

Jessie Guy Houchens 92 of Glasgow died Tuesday at Glenview Healthcare in Glasgow. The Monroe county native was the daughter of the late Ader and Ida Eubank Smith. Mrs. Houchens was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Emile Morgan Houchens, a daughter Evelyn Dean Houchens, a son Harold Wayne Houchens, 2 sisters Mildred England and Oleta Woodcock and 3 brothers Robert, Wilmer and Bill Smith. Survivors include 11 children, Richard (Wallace) Houchens, Patty Wilson, William Earl (Faye) Houchens, Wendall (Anita) Houchens, Eugene (Linda) Houchens, Franklin Houchens, Billy (Frances) Houchens, Roger Houchens, Donnie (Penny) Houchens and Linda Houchens all of Glasgow and Rosie (Charles) Steenbergen of Scottsville; 3 brothers Eagle, Cecil and Randall Smith all of Indiana; 32 grandchildren; 85 great-grandchildren and 37 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2pm Thursday at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Hopewell Cemetery in Allen County. Visitation will begin at 2pm Wednesday.
