Jessie Leroy Thompson 91 of Glasgow died Saturday, December 14, 2013 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. Born in Metcalfe Co. he was the son of the late Frank and Virgie Franklin Thompson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wives Mary Alice Hogan Thompson and Billie Francis Thompson, and a brother Wesley Howard Thompson. Mr. Thompson was a member of the South Green St. Church of Christ, the Barren River Rod and Gun Club and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II serving in a naval construction battalion. He was also a Carpenter and loved working in his wood working shop. Survivors include 2 daughters Patsy London and husband Leslie, and Connie Noel both of Louisville, KY; 4 sisters Ruby Witty and husband Bobby, Mabel Oaks and Ruth Stephans all of Glasgow and Ann Pierce of Greensburg; 2 step children Roger Martin of Horse Cave and Joyce Martin of Cave City; 3 grandchildren Shannon Noel Webb of Los Angeles, CA, Christopher London of Indianapolis, IN and Steven London of Louisville; a step granddaughter Melissa Carey of Glasgow; several great grandchildren including locally a step great grandson Colton Wilson. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Monday, December 16th at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by D.A.V. Chapter #20 of Glasgow. Visitation will be Monday from 9:30am until time for services.
