John A. Brock 99 a resident of Highland Ridge Assisted Living in Glasgow died Friday, February 12, 2016 at NHC Healthcare. Mr. Brock was born in Atmore, Alabama the son of the late Frances A. Bowman and William Thomas Brock. He was preceded in death by his wife Muriel Brock in 2005 and their son Charles Brock in 2008. Two brothers also preceded him in death. Mr. Brock served during WWII in the U. S. Army, Co. K 393 Combat Infantry. He was graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in business. He resided in Centerville, IA until 1956 and Crawfordsville, IN until 2000 when he and his wife moved to Glasgow. Survivors include a daughter Jane (Bill) Wininger of Glasgow; a son Richard (Sherry) Brock of Seminole, FL; seven adult grandchildren: Curt (Lynda) Wininger of Commercial Point, OH; Kathy (Mark) Vance of Glasgow; Brandon (Stacy) Wininger of Glasgow; Connie Brock of Berea, OH; John (Christie) Brock of New Haven, IN; Eric (Crystal) Brock of Bloomington, IN and Amy Brock of Bloomington, IN; seven great grandchildren: Chase Wininger of Richmond; Will Vance of Bowling Green; Grant Wininger of Richmond; Zack Vance, LCpl Marines of Goose Creek, SC; Sydney Wininger of Louisville; Ellis Wininger of Glasgow and Fiona Brock of Bloomington, IN. A memorial service for Mr. Brock will be 11:30am Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Glasgow First Presbyterian Church. Visitation with the family will be at the church from 10:30 until time for the service. Arrangements are under the direction of the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy be made to the Glasgow First Presbyterian Church or the charity of choice.
