John Clark

John R. Clark, 86 of Owensboro passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at his home. He was born on September 29, 1925 in Owensboro to the late Grover Clark and Theresa Payne Clark. He was retired from Jones Wholesale Candy Company as a salesman of 42 years. He was a US Army veteran. He was a member of Immaculate Catholic Church, the American Legion Post #9 and the VFW. He enjoyed his grandchildren and great-granddaughter and watching Kentucky Wildcats Basketball. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years of marriage, Jonell Clark, November 29, 2000. His brother, William 'Sonny' Clark, his sisters, Theresa Elizabeth Wheeler and Mary Gladys Clark. Surviving is his daughter, Debbie David McBride of Owensboro, KY. His grandchildren, Katie Lee Earley of Louisville, KY. and Laura McBride of Owensboro, KY. His great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Anne Earley of Louisville, KY. His sisters, Wanda Millay and Anna Jane Gene Scheidegger both of Owensboro, KY. Services will be at 2:00pm. Friday, January 6, 2012 at Immaculate Catholic Church. Visitation at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home from 2:00 to 7:00pm. Thursday and from 11:00 to 1:30pm. Friday at the funeral home. Prayers will be said at 5:30pm. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Father Larry McBride and Father Tony Jones will officiate. The family requests that expression of sympathy take the form of donations to Hospice of Western Kentucky, 3419 Wathens Crossing, Owensboro, KY. 42301.
