John Likens

John Preston 'J.P.' Likens 84 of Glasgow died Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at his home. He was born September 22, 1929, the son of the late John and Flossie Hume Likens. J.P. was a retiree of SCRTC and a longtime member of the Grider Memorial Baptist Church. He was also a caretaker of a special great grandson Cain Moore, who he often referred to as 'Sam'. Survivors include two sons John P. Likens, Jr. (Ann) of Glasgow and Dennis Wayne Likens (Sally) of Clinton Township, MI; two daughters Martha Sue Faulkner (Rollin) and Brenda Ann Moore (Royce) of Glasgow; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister Maxine Collins and a brother Wayne P. Likens (Alice) both of Glasgow and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Ida Mae Smith Likens, two brothers Everett Lee Likens and Louie Lykens; a sister Elizabeth Ann Likens Norman and two grandsons Tony Allan Vaughn and Bobby Wayne Vaughn. Funeral services will be 1pm Saturday, January 25th at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12:00 Noon Friday.
