John Nunley

John P. Nunley 77 of Glasgow died Friday, February 20, 2015 at The Medical Center @ Bowling Green. Born in Highsplit, KY he was the son of the late Wesley Howard and Anilee Smith Nunley. Mr. Nunley was a member of the Glasgow Baptist Church, a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the U. S. Navy and a retired educator and minister. He was also a Kentucky Colonel, a member of the Kentucky Baptist Convention and the SBC. Mr. Nunley had pastored several churches in Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky and Ohio. He loved missionary work and one of his greatest passions was bringing the word of God to the lost in Brazil and Mexico. Survivors include his wife Brenda Disney Nunley of Glasgow; two brothers Rev. Thomas Howard Nunley (Kay) of Glasgow and James Edward Nunley (Dixie) of Bluefield, WV; three brothers-in-law Phillip Disney (Carolyn) of Cincinnati, OH, Doug Disney (Cindy) and Tim Disney (Mary) both of Lexington, KY; a sister-in-law Shirley Disney of Ardmore, AL; several nieces and nephews Matt & Brian Disney, T. K. Nunley, Todd Nunley (Diane), Tara Nunley Thompson (Chris), Tracy Nunley, Trent Nunley (Phaedra), Robin Nunley, Thomas Nunley and Wanda Nunley Chapman. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three children John Nunley II, Michelle Renee Nunley and Faith Hope Nunley Willis. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home. Military honors will be provided by DAV Chapter #20 of Glasgow. Visitation will be after 4:30 Monday at the funeral home.
