John Shelton

John William Shelton 74 of Glasgow died Saturday April 9, 2005 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. He was born in Barren County the son of the late Virgil B. and Anna Elizabeth Wheeler Shelton. Mr. Shelton was a farmer and was a Korean War Veteran serving in the U. S. Army. He was a member of the Temple Hill Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Bernice Jones Shelton; 1 son Glenn Shelton and wife Debbie of Glasgow; 1 daughter Donna Thomas and husband Chuck of Glasgow; 3 brothers Wilson Shelton of Temple Hill, Robert Shelton of Glasgow and Virgil Frank Shelton of Glasgow; 2 sisters Louise Wilkinson of Texas and Geneva Pitcock of Louisville; 8 grandchildren Shawna Shartzer, Aundrea Thomas, Kareena Mansfield, Weston Shelton, Angie Alexander, Casey Hensley, Johnathan Thomas and DeAnna Thomas; 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A sister Betty Oliver preceded him in death. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday April 11, 2005 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by D.A.V. Chapter 20 of Glasgow. Visitation will be after 12:00pm Sunday at the funeral home.
