John Smith

John Douglas Smith 92 of Glasgow died Wednesday, December 7, 2016. He was born at Temple Hill the son of the late Frank S. and Lillie Matthews Smith. Mr. Smith was a lifelong farmer and was a veteran serving in the U. S. Army during WWII. He attended Browders Chapel Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Geneva Guffey Smith; 2 sons Gary Smith (Kathy) of Bella Vista, Ark. and Jerel Smith (Monica) of Knob Lick; 5 grandchildren J. D. Smith, Jana Chilton, Jared Smith, Jeremy Smith and Jaime Smith; 2 step-grandchildren Abigail and Aiken Sexton; 6 great-grandchildren Kaylan, Laney and Allie Chilton, Logan, Mason and D. J. Smith. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Wilton, Frank and Cecil Smith and 2 sisters, Araminta Bush and Alyne Lawson. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, December 10th at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be provided by D.A.V. Chapter 20 of Glasgow. Visitation will be Friday from 4pm until 8pm and Saturday morning from 8:00 until time for the service.
