John T. Steffey, 96, of Glasgow, died Thursday, August 29, 2019 at the NHC Healthcare facility in Glasgow. He was born in Glasgow, the son of the late Will Ed Steffey and Lottie Matthews Steffey. Mr. Steffey was a long-time dairy farmer. Early in his life worked as a night watchman at a tobacco warehouse in Barren county and worked a short time for Southern States Fertilizer. He was a Baptist and a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church on the old Bowling Green Rd. Survivors include one son James Robert Steffey and wife Joanne of Glasgow; three grandchildren, James Christopher Steffey of Glasgow, Kellie Buford and husband Jason of TX and Brandon Steffey of Glasgow; 3 great grandchildren, Heaven, Hunter and Jasmine Buford of TX; daughter-in-law, Jane Steffey of Glasgow; sister-in-law, Elsie Mae Brown of Leitchfield; niece, Sandra Brown of Leitchfield; a very special great niece, Wendy Duke and husband Jason of Glasgow. A special thank you for to Hometown Manor and NHC Healthcare for their exceptional care given to Mr. Steffey. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 31 years, Florence Bunch Steffey; one son, Charles Randy Steffey; three sisters Minta, Ora and Mary Steffey; two brothers, Rob and Dick Steffey. Funeral services will be 11:00am, Tuesday, September 3rd at the A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday from 4:30pm until 8:00pm and on Tuesday morning until time for services at the A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home.
