John Whitehead

John O. Whitehead, age 84, of Leitchfield, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2015 at his residence. He was born August 22, 1930 in Caneyville, KY the son of Estil & Ella Lindsey Whitehead. He was a Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and a truck driver for Givens & Houchens. He is survived by his son, Mark Whitehead (Theresa) of Leitchfield and his daughter, Vera Logsdon of Canerville, two brothers, Neal Whitehead of Morgantown & Larry Whitehead (Norma) of Louisville, one sister-in-law, Carolyn Coulter (Ray) of Chaplin, fifteen grandchildren, and nineteen great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday (Aug. 19) at the Watson & Hunt Funeral Chapel in Leitchfield. Burial will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Morgantown. Visitation will be held after 11:00 a.m., Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
