John Young

John Wayne Young 87 of Glasgow died Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at his home. He was born in Barren County the son of the late C.L. and Bernice Moon Young. Wayne was a farmer and a former employee of General Electric in Louisville. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during WWII and was a member of the Old Zion United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife Jean Siddens Young; daughter Teresa Young Steenbergen and husband Garry of Cave City; granddaughter Shannon Steenbergen Shirley and husband John of Glasgow; great grandchildren Annmarie and Jacob Shirley; brother Marvin Young and wife Elnor Jean of Glasgow; sister Anita Thomas and husband Gayle of Glasgow and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Joe Young and 3 sisters Helen Young, Wanda Young and Ruth Young Barton. Funeral services will be 2pm Saturday, July 27, 2013 at the A. F Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Old Zion Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5pm Friday and continue Saturday morning until time for the service.
