Joseph Carwile

Joseph 'Russell' Carwile, 71, of Caneyville, passed away Tuesday, April 25th, 2017 at his residence. He was born on Saturday, July 28th, 1945 in Breckinridge County, the son of the late Frank and Magdalene Theresa (Critchelow) Carwile. Russell was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Breckinridge County. He was also a member of the Rough River VFW Post 3852, where he served as post commander for a time. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam and retired from civil service. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Jean M. Shain-Carwile of Caneyville; two sons, Joe Carwile of Lexington and Robert Carwile of Hardinsburg; one grandson, Ethan Carwile of Hardinsburg and four brothers, Rudy Carwile, Gary Carwile, Ralph Carwile and Warren Carwile all of Hardinsburg.Cremation was chosen with a memorial mass to be held on Friday, May 5th at 10:00 am at the St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Breckinridge County.
