Joseph Benton Gray II (Joe B.), age 44, of Smiths Grove, Kentucky, passed away August 16, 2024, after a short illness at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. Joe B. was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky on August 09, 1980, to the late Joe Gray and Rita Young Gray, who still survives.
The farm is what you knew and loved, and God knew the life ahead of you, so He answered our prayers in a way that was best for you and not us. Your life was short, but we will hold on to the moments and memories we all shared. We are all headed to the same place, you just beat us there. I can’t yet understand why a Mama should ever have to write their child’s obituary, but you are all better now.
He is survived by his mother, Rita Young Gray; his children, Bo, Gentry and Corbin and their mother, Ashley Pedigo. His sister, Meridith Bowles Parker and his only niece, Presley Hope Parker. His maternal grandmother, Hope Young Williams; special companion, Jenny Brinson; border collie, Rip; his aunts, Linda Wells (Tommy), Connie McGregor (Eddie), Donnie Marion (Larry), Carol Manion (Jimmy); his uncle, Sammy Gray II (Pam); special cousin, Sammy Gray III, who selflessly took over the farm work when Joe B. couldn’t, and other cousins and friends that he truly treasured.
He was preceded in death by his daddy, Joe Gray; grandparents, Kenneth and Ruth Gray, James Clifton Young and Maxie Williams; and uncle, Ricky Gray (Karen).
The family of Joseph Benton (Joe B.) Gray II chose cremation. Visitation will be Thursday, August 22nd, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home.
