Katherine Allgood

K. Jewel Elmore Allgood, 85 passed away April 7, 2011. She was a resident of Greenwood. She was born October 2, 1925 in Glasgow, Kentucky to the late Austin and Elizabeth (Bridges) Kinslow. She married Truman E. Elmore on November 7, 1943 and he preceded her. She later married Eugene A. Allgood on November 18, 1998 and he survives. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Glasgow, Kentucky. She enjoyed camping, fishing, and playing BINGO. Other survivors include her daughters, Judy (Bill) Hopkins of New Palestine and Paulette (Bill) Slevin of Greenwood; a brother, William Kinslow of Franklin; a sister, Alice Powell of Greenfield; five grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary D. Steenbergen. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
