Katherine Russell

Katherine Burks Russell, 79, of Orlando, FL died Monday February 28, 2005 at the Orlando Regional Medical Center in Orlando,FL. She was born May 7, 1925 in Cave City, KY to the late Erastus and Lorena Burks. She attended school in Temple Hill, KY and graduated from Western Kentucky University in 1950. Mrs. Russell spent most of her career teaching first grade at Glen Oak School in Peoria, IL retiring in 1985. She is survived by her husband of 54 years William Russell; a son William Russell and family of Champaign, IL; one brother Roy Lee Burks of Fowler, IN and a sister Phoebe Peden of Peoria, IL. She was preceded in death by a son Marcus Russell. Mrs. Russell was cremated. A memorial service will be held on Saturday March 12, 2005 at 2:30pm at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with inurnment to follow at the Poplar Log Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday March 12th from 12:00 to 2:30pm at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the William R. and Katherine B. Russell Scholarship Fund at Western Kentucky University Foundation, 1 Big Red Way, Bowling Green, KY 42101.
