Kelly Ray Houchens 78 of Glasgow died Friday May 9th in Glasgow. He was born December 13, 1929 in Monroe County, KY to the late Evans and Betty Temple Houchens. He currently attended Grider Memorial Baptist Church. Mr. Houchens was a TSGT in the U. S. Air Force and retired in 1972 after 20 years of service. He moved his family back to Kentucky where he engaged in farming. He was also a school bus driver with the Barren County school system. He enjoyed cooking and playing bluegrass music with his band- the 'Bluegrass Ramblers'. He is survived by his children- Tammy Williams (Randy) of Austin, Tony Houchens (Nancy Jo), Tim Houchens (Marla) and Tanya Houchens all of Glasgow; his grandchildren, Adam Williams (Whitney), Lacey Williams, Lindsey Williams, Tristan Houchens and Kaemyn Houchens. Also surviving is his brother Harold Houchens (Karen) of Lamb and two nieces Robin Wyatt and Denell Baker. He was preceded in death by his wife Anita Lilian Paine Houchens in August of 2006. Funeral services will be 3:00pm Sunday May 11, 2008 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3:00pm on Saturday.
