Kenneth Westmoreland Carson, 57, Glasgow, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at home following a battle with cancer. Ken was born in Louisville, Kentucky, on August 11, 1956, and grew up in Bonham, Texas. He was a graduate of Sandia High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico. After a successful career in the music industry, Ken earned a nursing degree from Western Kentucky University and became a nursing supervisor for Greenwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was truly a person of strength and integrity, a loving, caring, intelligent man who was loved by all. He was a real human being, with a big personality, a passion for life, a sense of humor and a great love for his family. He led a full life and will be greatly missed. Survivors include his loving wife, Melanie McShane Carson and their daughter Natalie Grace Carson, a 7th grader at Glasgow Middle School, and stepson Mark Christian Harrer of Glasgow. Other survivors include his mother Janeth Carson Strickland (Jim) of Texas; step mother Sharon Carson of Kentucky; a sister Elaine Doering (Roger) of Georgia; 3 step-sisters Sherri Heckendorn (David) of Texas, Karen Reffett (Jason) of Indiana and Judy Chambers (Todd) of Indiana; 2 step-brothers Jay Strickland (Barrie) of Texas and Andy Strickland of California; an aunt Lucille Harrell (Lester) and an uncle Rique Carson (Ilene Benzman) both of Texas and numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his father Jack McDonald Carson and his step-sister Vicky Schofield (John). Graveside services will be 4:00pm Sunday, July 13, 2014 at the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery officiated by the Honorable Lee Mounger of Houston, Texas. There will be a celebration of life dinner immediately after his graveside service at the Ole French Restaurant in Glasgow. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the T. J.
