Jeanne Scalise 66 of Glasgow died Sunday, June 6, 2010 at her residence. Born in Columbus, OH she was the daughter of the late John Henson and Eula Maye Newland Christian. Mrs. Scalise was the former owner and operator of Cornelius Credit Collection Company, Inc. and has served as a Glasgow City Council member for the past 18 years. During her tenure, she was very active on the committee that established the Recycling Program for the City of Glasgow. She has spent many Saturday mornings at the Southgate Plaza drop off/collection site and was also very involved with educating our youth about the importance of recycling. Serving on the Glasgow Urban Renewal and Community Development Agency Board of Commissioners since 1986, she has been involved in several redevelopment and revitalization projects throughout the city. Mrs. Scalise also served on the following city council boards: Infrastructure Committee (which consist of the Street Department, Public Transportation, Sanitation and Landfill, Recycling, Street Lighting and Storm Water) and Glasgow Planning and Development Committee (consisting of Recreation Department, Technology and Office of Grant Oversight). She also serves on the Barren & Metcalfe County Ambulance Board, a Kentucky Colonel and was a member of St. Helen
