Laverne Combs

Laverne G. Combs 84 of Mt. Hermon, KY died Thursday February 12, 2009 at T. J. Samson Community Hospital. She was born in Barren County the daughter of the late Hillary and Mary Greer and was also preceded in death by her step-mother Hanna Kinslow Greer. Mrs. Comb's was a nurse's aid and an employee of the State Hospital in Glasgow and was a member of the Dover Baptist Church and the Etoile Chapter of the Eastern Star. Survived by 1 daughter Linda Stewart (Roy) of Glasgow; 7 sons Bobby Combs (Sherry) of Bonayr, Donald Combs (Priscilla) of Picayune, MS, Gary Combs (Marie) of Nixon, TX, George Combs (Mildred) of Tompkinsville, Jimmy Combs (Brandy) of Tompkinsville, Johnny Combs (Rebecca) of Etoile and Mike Combs (Debra) of Glasgow; a daughter in law Robin Combs of Glasgow; and several grandchildren, great and great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Rex Combs, a daughter Mary Lou Emberton and a son Tommy Combs. Funeral Services will be 1:00 pm Sunday at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Bethlehem Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5:30pm on Friday and will continue on Saturday and Sunday until time for the services. An Eastern Star service will be held at 7pm Saturday at the funeral home and the public is welcome to attend.
