Laverne Combs

Laverne C. Combs 96 of Glasgow, died Saturday January 27, 2007 at the Barren County Health Care Facility in Glasgow. Mrs. Combs was born in Barren County the daughter of the late Ray and Marie Payne Chism. Her husband was the late Veachel Lee Combs with whom she owned and operatred Combs Coal Yard in Glasgow. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and White Shrine and was a member of the Glasgow Baptist Church. Survivors include 3 nephews, Aubrey Houchens (Truda) and Jimmy Houchens (Judy) of Glasgow and Barry Chism of Louisville; a sister in law Doris Chism of Louisville and several great and great great nieces and nephews. A sister Oline Houchens and a brother Alonzo Chism preceded her in death. Funeral services will be 11:00am Tuesday January 30th at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5:00pm Monday. Eastern Star services will be held at 6:30pm Monday at the funeral home and the public is welcome to attend.
