Lawton Isaac Moore Jr., age 82, of Glasgow, Ky. (formally of Nebo, Ky.) passed away Friday, October 28, 2011 at T. J. Samson Hospital. He was born July 4, 1929 in Hopkins County, Ky. to the late Lawton Isaac Moore Sr. and Ona Berry Moore. Mr. Moore (Captain Kangaroo) was a retired coal miner. He worked for Ziegler Mines in Hopkins Co. for approximately 30 years and Hamilton II Mines in Morganfield for approximately 4 years. He was a member of Refuge Worship Center in Nebo, Ky. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Holmes Moore; two daughters, Teresa Holmes Massey (Rick) of Glasgow; Phyllis Lane Duncan (Roy) of Providence; one son, Barry Keith Moore (Lynn) of Madisonville; six grandchildren, La'Casta Couch (Chris), Tammy Priest Lawsner, Ryan and Adam Moore, Kevin and Kim Duncan; and four great-grandchildren, Tabitha, Terri, and C. J. Couch, and Tonija Duncan and one sister, Betty Campbell, of Morganfield, Ky. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Shelby Plunkett. Funeral services will be at 2 pm Tuesday November 1, 2011 at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home in Glasgow, Ky. with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00pm until 8:00pm and Tuesday from 7:00 am until time for service.
