Lou Anna Garrett Simpson 89 of Glasgow died Thursday, May 17, 2012 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. A native of Cumberland County, she was the daughter of the late Mary-Kate Ferguson Garrett and James Edward Logan Garrett. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Willard Simpson; two half brothers Gidlow & Woodrow Morgan and a half sister Bessie Tackett. After retiring from the Department of Human Resources Employment Division she volunteered for several years with the T. J. Samson Hospital Auxiliary. She was also a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church. Survivors include two daughters Marilyn Ann Alvey and Kathy Ragle (Steve) both of Glasgow; three grandchildren Steven Ragle (Amanda Jane) of Brentwood, TN; Sam Alvey (Sabrina) of Glasgow and Leah-Kate Pniewski (Luke) of Glasgow; four great grandchildren Kloe-Kate Pniewski, Porter Ragle, Anna Ragle and Evan Alvey; sisters-in-law Earleen Scott, Fina Simpson, Helen Simpson and Mary Rose Simpson; brothers-in-law Gene Simpson; several beloved nieces, nephews, cousins & friends also survive. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Sunday, May 20, 2012 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be 5pm until 8pm Saturday and on Sunday until time for the service at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial contributions to the First United Methodist Church Bus Ministry @ 500 S. Green St. Glasgow, KY 42141.
