Bro. Loyd Geralds Britt, 92, of Glasgow, Kentucky passed away peacefully on April 19,2022 at NHC Healthcare in Glasgow, Kentucky to go to his heavenly home. He was born October 28, 1929, in Allen's Cross Road, Kentucky to the late John William Britt and Louisa Elizabeth Wheeler Britt. He served dutifully in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Loyd was a lifelong farmer and spent many years serving the Lord as a pastor and evangelist in his community and surrounding counties of Adair, Allen, Barren, Green, Metcalfe, Monroe, and Simpson. Mr. Britt was a longtime, faithful member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include his loving wife, whom he married December 18, 1954, Madge Walker Britt; two sons, Loyd Geralds Britt, Jr. (Judy) and Timothy W. Britt (Vicki), both of Glasgow; one daughter, Ann Herald of Glasgow; seven grandchildren, Jordan Elizabeth Crain (Daniel), Ashley Danielle Lile (Matt), both of Center, Loyd Douglas Britt (Megan) of Capitol Hill, Thomas Walker Britt, Jessica Rae Britt, both of Glasgow, Stacy Oakes of New Albany, Indiana, Angela Gilliam (Bobby) of Scottsville; seven great grandchildren, Trayce Crain, Brayden Crain, Kenzie Lile, Macy Lile, Matthew Stephens (Danielle), Bryan Stephens, Ryan Stephens; one brother, Robert D. Britt of Glasgow, Kentucky, several nieces and nephews as well as a host of many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Kenneth Herald; five brothers, Arthur Lee, Trulon Edward, Jessie Reid, Albert Nelson, John G. Britt and three sisters, Mary Ellen Cox, Flossie Burd, and Maxine Hagan. The funeral service for Mr. Britt will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, April 24th at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Sunday morning until time for the service at the funeral home.
