Maurine Chapman 90 of Glasgow died Friday, June 7th, 2013 at Barren County Health Care in Glasgow. The Barren County native was the daughter of the late George and Ida Waller Elmore and wife for 62 years to the late Tolle Burt Chapman. Mrs. Chapman was a homemaker and had worked at the cafeteria at Temple Hill School, the Crown Laundry Co. and was a private caregiver. She professed her faith in Christ at an early age and was a member of the Caney Fork Baptist Church. She is survived by 2 daughters, Imogene Shirley and husband Earl and Betty Sue Shirley and husband Selby Glen both of Glasgow; 1 grandson Steve Shirley (Susan); 2 great grandchildren Summer and Sawyer Shirley all of Glasgow; 2 sisters Beatrice Williams and Dorothy Jones both of Glasgow and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by 3 sisters Ruth Hale, Gladys Kerney and Margaret Vaughn Eatmon and a brother Edward Elmore. Funeral services will be 3pm Monday, June 10th at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Union #2 Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12pm Sunday.
