Madalene Riherd

Madalene Sartin Riherd 91 of Cave City died Saturday February 12, 2005 at her home. Born December 21, 1931 in Tolbert, Tx a daughter of the late Ernest and Eva Elizabeth Bartley Sartin; wife of the late Cecil Riherd for 52 yrs; Mrs. Riherd moved to Kentucky as a small child. She later graduated from Cave City High School and Western Kentucky University. She taught school in the Barren County School System including Cedar Hill, Merry Oaks, Carver, Raymond and Park City for 39 yrs. She was a member of the Cave City Church of Christ and taught Sunday School classes most of her life. Mr. & Mrs. Riherd had no children of their own but raised three children for her brother, Jack Sartin when his wife died. J.B. was 8yrs, Eva Elizabeth was 6yrs and Becky 4yrs old. They took them in May 1955 and raised and loved them as their own. Survivors include 1 son J.B. Sartin and wife Barbara of Cave City; 2 daughters Eva Bogue and husband Bradley of Munfordville and Rebecca J. Hartman of Dunedin, FL; 3 grandchildren Karrie Lynn Bogue of Lexington, B.L. Bogue II of Munfordville and Jeremy Florek of Smith Grove; 3 Step Grandsons Ralph Lisby of Indianapolis, Jason Lisby and Joshua Lisby both of Glasgow. 8 Step great grandchildren; nieces and nephews Joe Riherd, Frank Riherd, Kenneth Allen Sartin and June Wells; 2 sister in laws Minnie Sartin and Elizabeth Dimbleby; and 1 brother in law James Riherd. Funeral Services will be held 10:00amTuesday February 15, 2005 at the A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Cave City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00pm until 8:00pm on Monday at the Funeral Home
