Madine Smith

Madine Smith, 100, of Caneyville, passed away Friday, March 6th, 2015 at the Grayson Manor Nursing Home in Leitchfield. She was born on November 7th, 1914 in Grayson County, the daughter of the late Amos Sr and Berdie (Hudson) Swift. She was a homemaker and a member of the Caneyville Baptist Church. She is survived by her son, Jerry Smith (Juanita) of Caneyville; five daughters, Margalene Raymer, Mary Ann Franks (Bill), Carolyn Nuckols, Marsha Duvall (Roger) and Rhonda Sipes (Jim) all of Caneyville and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Other than her parents, Madine is preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Latney Harold Smith; four sons, Charles Smith, Herschel Smith, Amos J. Smith and Raymond Smith and; one daughter, Sandra Smith and several brothers and sisters.Funeral services will be Monday, March 9th at 11:00 am at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville. Bro Mickey Coates will be officiating. Burial will be in the Layman Memorial Cemetery.Friends may call at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville Sunday after 12:00 Noon and Monday from 9:00 am until time of service.
