Mamie Shives

Mamie G. Shives 88 of Glasgow died Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at her residence. Born in Metcalfe County she was the daughter of the late Calvin & Pearl Fields and wife of the late James H. Shives. Mrs. Shives was of the Baptist faith and a retired Food Supervisor at Glenview Manor Nursing Home. Survivors include a son Garnett Shives & wife Charlene of Glasgow; three daughters Joyce Lutterman of Glasgow, Deborah Bentley & husband Wendell of Taylorsville, KY and Bonnie Owens & husband Bud of Gate City, VA; 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren; 2 brothers Elbert Fields of Glasgow and Carroll Fields of Bowling Green; a sister Clara Gibson of Summitville, IN; several nieces and nephews and two special friends Nina Brown and Edna Gosser. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a brother Aaron Fields, two sisters Jewell Jessie and Lois Wilson. Funeral services will be 11:00am Saturday, November 9, 2013 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Shives Cemetery in Metcalfe County. Visitation will be after 2:00pm Friday the funeral home.
